Darren has a big announcement coming up next week! If you want to get exclusive updates you can go to darrencriss.com/list to sign up. What do you guys think it’s going to be? We’re keeping our fingers crossed for a release of a solo album!
Sorry for the bad quality, but it was all I could find at the moment, I’ll update when I find a better quality version.
I’m proud to announce that Darren-Criss.COM has a brand new layout made by me. It features images of Darren (and friends) in the Team Starkid musical A Very Potter Senior Year. Most of you know Darren from his role as Blaine Anderson on Glee, but haven’t stopped to watch Darren in the online musicals, which is exactly the reason why this layout was made…. To inspire those who haven’t yet seen them to see them. They are a big part of Darren’s career and life, and really help you appreciate the talent he has. Enjoy the new layout!
Luckily for us, “Guilty Pleasures” contained a lot of Blaine! I have added 473 captures from last night’s Glee episode!
Glee 4.18 “Shooting Star” is the start of the final five episodes of the season. It airs in three weeks on April 11th!
As all of us know, Darren Criss is a huge fan of the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling. Being fans ourselves, it’s only appropriate to think…So which of the books were parodied in the newest, and unfortunately, last StarKid Potter musical? The Chamber of Secrets. The second book in the series was the main parody in the musical. “Enemies of the heir beware.” This story is about Ginny (possessed) and a journal, a journal which opens Salazar Slytherin’s chamber of secrets, which is found in the girls’ bathroom, leading to a battle between Harry (who is healed by Fawkes the phoenix), Tom Riddle (only a ghost of his journal), and his basilisk, a giant snake. The Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher is author (and fraud) Gilderoy Lockhart, whom all girls love. Oh, and Hermione is petrified. Sound familiar? The Goblet of Fire. Though the fourth book is more used in the first musical, this musical uses elements from this book too. One of the elements is Alastor Mad-Eye Moody being a disguise for Death Eater Barty Crouch, Jr. Another one is the appearance of the character Cedric Diggory, who was featured in the book. The Half-Blood Prince. In the musical, we see several scenes of Tom Riddle’s past, including a depressing scene of a young boy who lives in an orphanage. This was in the sixth book of the series. And…If you’ve been feeling lucky, or you read the book, you’d know the potion Felix Felicis is from this book. The Deathly Hallows. “I open at the close.” Harry opens his winning snitch, therefore finding the resurrection stone. He is confronted by his dead parents, Sirius Black, and Remus Lupin. Other elements from this seventh and last book include, Harry returning to Godric’s Hallow, this being their final year with recurring Professors Dumbledore and Snape having died. 19 years later…Harry returns to Platform 9 3/4 to tell his son, whom he named after two of the bravest men he knew, that it doesn’t matter what house he ends up in. That’s not all. The Philosopher’s/Sorcerer’s Stone book was held up by Lockhart. This is also Luna’s first appearance, like in The Order of the Phoenix. But Starkid includes allusions to many more popular works, other than just Harry Potter. Some of them being Spider-Man, The Hunger Games, Twilight, and more. What works did you seen referenced in the musical? Written by Darren-Criss.com
The official Starkid store has a FREE download to a new Darren song titled “I Was“.
The song is very good and very pretty, so make sure to get it! The script is also available for a free download in the store!
